Challenge #26: Be Inspired

First i would like to announce the winner of the banner from K-Liz.
anyone wanna guess? nah just kidding...the winner of a brand spankin new banner for you blog is: APRIL D!! congrats girl...please email us at scrapyourcrap@gmail.com to claim your banner. Whoo HOOOOO!!!

Dig 'em out girls. Dust them off if there old or Break 'em open if they are new. I don't know about you but I have inspiration books for DAAAAAYS. I buy them because I think they are great, get them home and chunk them in a pile to keep my other 203326585 company. So this week we are pulling them out and giving them some love.
Please make sure if you participate you tell us what book you got your inspiration from. Ya never know we just might and probably have that book. {deep sigh}

Queen Mica's:

The book I got inspiration from is called Simple Ideas published by SRM Press, Inc.

Liz's:

i have a huge bin filled with old mags. couldn't find an idea book, but there were plenty of ideas in that bin. i chose a layout created by Sarah Klemish on pg. 18 of Scrapbook Trends September 2006 issue.

Greta's:

Well since my inspiration books are hidden under my 2.7 million subscriptions I get (which i will not be renewing) I just picked the first magazine off the pile that i have yet to look through. This came from Simple Scrapbooks. July/August 08 issue pg. 30. layout by Celeste Smith. My journaling tag came from Karen's ca-yute etsy shoppe.

Lisa's
I have a ton a scrapbook magazines, but I found inspiration in a Saturn ad! Look at the paper flowers in the ad, I think they stole their ad from a scrapbook layout!

Dana's:

I have never tried paper-piecing patterns before. I got the inspo for this from the current Aug/Sept 2008 issue of Scrapbooks Etc.. I am not sure this is what they had in mind. My hubby says it looks like a 2nd grader's drawing! Oh, well I had a lot of fun and definitely tried something new and that's the point right?

Show us what you got girls...and remember to please leave a comment in the comments section with a link so we are able to find you easily!

slide show has been moved to the projects blog which can be found on the right hand side of the side bar

Hey I just ordered from Karen's shop and she rocks! Greta I don't think it looks like a 2nd graders drawing I think it is funky fresh! Bah to men! LOL

Well, if you don't have any books, how about some catalogs? I thought I didn't own any books and was flipping pages of Sizzix and Scrapbook calalogs for some inspirations. And I remembered I owned one. That Simple Idea book was published in 2004 and my one and only book I have purchased and own. I picked that book (or a booklet rather since it has only 24 pages including covers.) for $1.00 on the clearance table when I went to Scrapbook Expo. It was fun to see how scrapbooking styles changed over the last few years. Have fun ladies!!

pinky, head to wally world and hang out in the magazine section for a bit! gosh, i have so many and never use them i wish i could say that i didn't own any!

so, as usual, this challenge was a nice change of pace for me...to sit down and actually use something i've neglected!

How sad is it that I don't have time to scrapbook? :( I finally found a piece of fabric and we are already onto the next week! Almost ALL of my pages are um...stolen...I mean INSPIRED by someone else's! I have absolutely no imagination! I will upload one tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas ladies!

This is a great challenge. To directly be inspired by some book or magazine. I guess I am often inspired from details I have seen here and there. Details which I interpret in some way. But... to be fully inspired by a page or something by actually looking at it. That's seldom I do.

i actually went thru my idea books a few months ago and lifted pages from the ones i wanted to pass along to someone else. here's one of my favorites that i did:

Thanks for your nice words to me to complete this challenge. Just want to tell you that my hands grabbed a random book yesterday evening and yes, I will do something based on somethings in that book by looking at something that someone else has made... :)

Okay, it's not a brand new LO, but I got inspired by the July/August edition of SimpleScrapbooks (page 103) to make this LO.

(The original LO is also in this post.)
