Challenge #15: Bling It On Baby

I think the sparkle has always been around.I mean, how long have diamonds been a girl's best friend really? But this recent trend of really laying on the bling, I have to admit, I thought it would be short lived, but it looks like the bling may be here to stay.

So whip out your rhinestones, gems, jewels...Sprinkle on that glitter and glimmer mist...Pull out your sparkle paper and let's get crafty!
This week we are looking for projects that sparkle and shine like diamonds or vegas? (whichever you prefer...lol ) Don't be stingy with those blingies either, we are trying to use up our stash, so lay it on thick, so we will all need sunglasses to view the blog this week!

And remember to link up your great flashy projects in the comments section or add it to the slide so we can all be blinded!

Okay, here's my bling-a-rific contribution:
http://www2.fiskateers.com/gallerycontent/0021/lar00021422.jpg

I do wish the photo had come out a bit clearer, but the tag words are glittered in all different colors by hand, there are some really neat sparkle metallic spot things, and the very crowded table in the pic was full of prizes for the winners of various competitions at our World Rat Day Celebration this year. I thought the glitter and sparkle added to the vegas-y tone of the winnings when I made this layout yesterday. There are more bling-y pages I made in the album, too because I can't resist the sparkly stuff! :)

Most of the prizes went to the winning rats who came in first, second, and third in our Virtual Rat Show. There are professional rat shows, like dog and cat shows, but we're just a little rescue organization and we didn't want to risk any of the rats giving any other rats the sneezies (more serious in rats than human sneezies are) so, ours was photograph based. People bought raffle tickets (benefitting our animal rescue: www.raleighrodentrescue.org) and each ticket was a vote for their rat of their choice. It was a lot of fun and we'll definitely do it again next year. :)

All those prizes? They were donated by companies and individuals who wanted to help our cause. Aww! We also had lots of educational displays, handouts, and games to teach people what fascinating animals rats really are.
