Challenge #50: Hearts and Glitter

I don't know about you but i have to admit i loathe V-day...yes despicable i know but i do...as a matter of fact i am cringing to have to acknowledge this silly holiday or whatever you call it...but alas...alot of people like so i shall roll with it. :)

Your challenge is Hearts and Glitter....the more the better..run with it...felt hearts, paper hearts, fabric hearts, chipboard, chunky glitter, fine glitter doesn't matter. YOU HAVE TO USE WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE! no buying. after all this is a using up your crap challenge blog :)

my layout is minimal and the reason is.....that's right you read it up top... BLECH!
my anniversary is on new year's eve so i thought it would be ok to use for this. Now that my friends i celebrate. hehehee! After diggin for about an hour i realized i have lots of glitter but not lots of heart stuff (lucky me) so this was the best i could do....

Make sure you post a comment with a link so we can see your stuff...

happy sparkles and glittering :)

Kim
Yeah, I am with Greta on this one - so NOT a fan of V-Day..never have, never will. I dunno, there is something about the commercialisation that totally bugs the heck out of me...and the fact that I refuse to be all lovey dovey on the day when everyone else is too. I much rather have my own special lovey dovey day some other time.

BUT heart and glitter - now THAT I can do....I am chick after all. I have to admit that ever since Glimmer Mist/Cosmic Shimmer has entered my life - I prefer to spritz some Slitter on my projects rather than faffing around with Glitter post and heatgun. The layout is spritzed all over with Glimmer Mist - even on the chipboard heart. But I can also do glitter the "normal" way as shown in the card :)

I am so with you. I do not like Valentine's Day or as they call it in my office Singles Awareness Day (SAD).

I will take your challenge because I have a load of sCRAP I could work with. Will I post? dunno. but thanks for challenging me.

Happy SAD

I don't really care for V-day either. My husband I don't really do much for it. We just have a quiet dinner at home. I hate that everyone has to feel so obligated to step up their love that day. Lame...just show love all the time.

And I also love New Year's Eve...I want to go to Times Square so BAD!! How fun to get married that day!

Great challenge, I love glitter...and have plenty of it. So this won't be a tough one for me.

Girl, how TRUE is dat? SAD... I actually like the abbrevation you are using... Hey, we would love it if you shared your project. But no pressure, as long as we can inspire you to scrap you crap :)

Seems we are all on the same page about V-day!

I would also love to be at Times Square at New Years Eve *sigh*.

Hope to see your take on glitter and hearts :)

I am totally not a fan of v-day either. I think it's kind of silly. We don't celebrate valentines either. THanks for the challenge I can definitely do glitter and hearts!

OK so maybe I am pathetic but i LOVE valentines day. Not so much the date night, candy card thing for DH and I - but if a bunch of flowers came my way I wouldn't throw them out ;) I decorate the table the night before in cheesy Valentine decore and we have sweet bad for you breakfast that is not allowed other times. I give out smooches to my kiddos all day. Man I do love it :D

I am excited to do this one!

guess I am neutral about the day... I think it is silly but then I sometimes like silly and I love my grandkids so..
BUT I nearly loathe Hearts...so overdone... and yet they still find their way into my crap.
Which means of course that I can do this! yippee!

Valentine's day has become expensive and totally commercial - I prefer to give gifts randomly cause I want to - not because a day is designated for it! Here is my non-valentine layout with glitter and hearts:

I don't celebrate V-day because for me it's a day like any other... My boyfriend can give me presents any time he wants! X-D

I always made a point of giving my kids a little box of chocolates for V-Day. Still to this day I send them a little something. For my daugther who is 25 look here.

These two links are what I sent my son (28) and grandson (9 months) as well as the card for my grandson.

Yeah, I do like Valentine's Day...it gives me just another chance to share!

Okay as promised I did get to use some glitter and hearts. And for the sake of Valentine's day, I even made it solely Valentine's related. Can you believe it? I can't.

Love Card and Gift Holder

The glitter was represented in a glitter pen that I used to accent my stamps. And then the hearts are what you see is what you get... ;) Thanks for the challenge!... And it was a CHALLENGE to make a Vday focused project.

Here is my layout. It took me a few days to really make it look like I wanted and to let the stickles dry.
