Meet the DT - Pt II

We hope you enjoyed last weeks introduction and the wee insight into the worlds of our resident Queens of Crap.

So how about some more - are you ready? Well, here we go!

Louise
"Hi I'm Louise and I am happy to admit I am totally addicted to paper crafts.  I live in rural New Zealand on a small lifestyle block with my scrapbook supportive Husband Andrew and our 4 children, who I am sure you will get to know alot better through my layouts.
I am a huge fan of flowers, patterned paper and anything PINK (this can become a little difficult when scrapping my 3 boys).  I love lumpy, bumpy layouts but lately I seem to be tending toward more graphic "flat" looking pages, I think this has more to do with getting my photos scrapped in a more timely manner than the actual "look" of the layout. I also make cards and enjoy sewing ( I said enjoy I did not say I am good at it.lol) I have started to sew on my layouts recently now that my sewing machine is out on my desk so you will probably see alot of pink, flowers and sewing.  I am so excited to be a part of the SYC team and I am looking forward to getting started"

Martine
"I'm from Quebec in Canada.  I share my life with my boyfriend, my three cats and more scrappy supplies than I'll ever be able to use! I'm particularly addicted to paper, clear stamps and flowers (okay… and glimmer mists, and bling, and chipboard, and … you get the picture! lol!) I love to travel, and scrapbooking fits right into that passion for me. I scrap mostly my trips, and while I'm working on a layout, I'm immersed back into the place I'm scrapping. I forget everything else other than trying to find the perfect papers and embellies to match my photos! It's my escape!
I'm so excited to be on this team! I hope you'll join us! "

Nitasha
”I am a full-time social service worker, but that does not stop me from daydreaming about paper, glue, embellishments, and glitter all day! I am constantly writing down ideas and conversations that "need" to be documented!  Scrapbooking is the perfect outlet for me to express all the random daily thoughts that I want to remember as well as the milestone events for my family.

When I am not working or crafting I can be found spending quality time with my husband and our two sons at the movies, park, or sporting events or curled up with my sweet bulldog, Bella, watching TLC, HGTV, or some cheesy Chiller movie. I love looking at things through a creative lens because I think everything is better with a little embellishment.”

Norine

”Hello, my name is Norine.  I'm a not-quite-50 yr old, mother of 4+ a daughter-in-law, married to Paul for 30 years, misplaced Canadian living in Arizona. I've been "scrapping" since my teens, but made it my official hobby in 2003.  Before that it was cross stitch, folk art painting, pretty much anything "crafty".

All my life I have loved photos. Even ones of people I don't know. And I've loved the stories that each photo tells. But eventually the story-tellers are gone and (if we’re lucky) the photo albums remain and while it's fun to imagine the story behind each picture, it's much more satisfying to know the real story. That is what motivates me to put pictures and pen to paper.  Well, that and the patterned paper.  Oh, and the mists and rub-ons and ribbon and chipboard.

Four kids, one endlessly supportive husband and many varied interests (cooking, reading, snowboarding, travel, photography, cottaging) provide me with more photos than I will ever get scrap booked, but in the meantime, I'm having a great time messing around with fun and artistic techniques and products. And when I need to sound more credible, I refer to myself as the "Guardian of my Family's History".  I'm thrilled to be part of the Scrap your Crap DT and look forward to alleviating some of my "hoarding guilt" by contributing here!”

"I am wife to a wonderful husband and Mom of our two beautiful daughters, two terrific sons and one great son in law. Originally from New England, Southern California is now our home. When not taking care of my family, I can often be found in my studio with my two precious Labrador Retrievers right beside me. My paper crafting focus is mostly on cards, but certainly scrapbook pages and altered items are common projects for me as well. I also enjoy doing counted cross stitch and baking. I love antiques, vintage things and estate jewelry- and "the hunt" for them by way of antiques stores and flea markets. I also love spending time at nearby Disneyland or walking along the beautiful beaches and enjoying the sunny, warm weather of SoCal.
I am so happy to be joining the design team of SYC! I look forward to the fun ahead here while using up my overflowing stash and hopefully bringing you some inspiration along the way. "

There you have it - all the skinny on our brand spanking new DT, who have already been mega busy to bring you our first challenge for this year on 15 March 2012.

Meet the DT - Pt I

Are you ready to learn a little bit more about our wonderful new DT ladies, who - come March 15th - will inspire you to use that stash?

We asked our Queens of Crap to tell us a little about themselves and hope you enjoy learning a little more about them as much as we did.
And when you have the time, don't forget to check out their blogs for some fabulous inspiration.

This time in alphabetical order, here are our first five Queens

Aimee
http://www.aimeefleckart.blogspot.com/

Aimee has been crafting for as long as she can remember. Both of her parents were crafty people, too. In junior high school Aimee entered art competitions, and was active in art, music, and drama. Aimee discovered rubber stamping in 1996, and scrapbooking soon after, and has been busy ever since! Aimee shows work at local art galleries, teaches at local scrapbook stores, and is a Ranger Certified Educator.

Caryn
"I hail from Maryland. I am married to a wonderful husband of 12 years who happens to be the best flag football quarterback that I know (in my own opinion).I have been blessed with 2 of the most fantastic children (Kyle & Kassie). My family are the reason why I scrapbook. They provide me inspirations for many of my scrapbook pages. I am a diehard Redskins fan! You can always catch me behind a camera taking lots & lots of pictures. My scrapbooking style is just me doing what I love!"

Channa
http://www.crafts-pieces.com/
"My name is Channa Suitella and i am born and raised in The Netherlands, but for the last 5 years i live in Athens, Greece. I am married for almost 3 years, with my gorgeous greek husband, hens the reason we live in Greece. No children or pets, that is still work in progress. I have been introduced to scrap-booking about 9 years ago by my mother, who has thought me several crafting options. From making small figurines of fimo clay, sewing, jewelry making, cards to scrap-booking. Over the years i have made several lay outs which are stored in the Netherlands and i am making a new collection here in Greece. I have several passions............travelling, addicted to series, shopping etc but the main one is crafting. Recently i have been given the opportunity to become a "lady of leisure" and i dedicate all my time to my husband and of course crafting. I love making cards & lay outs, using several techniques and tools, stamps, ribbons, punches basically anything that i can find in my pile of "crap". And i am happy that i can share it with all the readers of the SYC blog."

Jenifer
"My name is Jenifer Evans known on many scrapbooking sites as "Jennaroo"! I have 5 kiddos and am married to my high school swetheart! We live in a small farming community....and honestly there's not much to do besides scrap and chase my kids from one sporting event to the next! I have been seriously scrapping now for 2 years but started many years ago when my first child was born. I scrapbook to preserve memories for my children and theirs to come but I also scrap as a creative outlet for myself!

My friends and family make fun of me because I see things differently than they do, I get inspired by surroundings and often wonder how I can scrap them or incorporate them into my crafting somehow, whether it be something that would make a great title or something that could be altered or sqeezed onto a layout. I would say I have more than one style of scrapping because I don't want to limit my creativitey. My dominant style is shabby/pretty chic, but I've been known to produce grungy as well as clean and simple layouts once in a while. I pretty much go where the pictures and paper take me! "

Gabrielle
"My name is Gabrielle, but feel free to call me Gaby.  I'm from Hawaii, but currently live in Coastal NC for my husband.  He recently got out of the Marine Corps after 12 years of service and we're just waiting to see where life takes us next.  I have a black cat named Pluto and a shiba inu dog named Roxy.  I've been paper crafting for about two and a half years and just instantly fell head over heels for it!  I'm so very excited to join the SYC design team and can't wait to see the challenges that await me"

Challenge #62: Stamp it up

Thank you to everyone who played along with our Something Old/Something New challenge last moth.

For Challenge No #62 we would like to see you use STAMPS.

You can use digital or wood/clear mount stamps on your projects, but we would like to see at least THREE different ones.
Think of using them as a background, for titles or maybe even to embellish ribbons or flowers.

---*---
Be sure and comment with a link to your *newly created* project so we can see and comment on them.
---*---
If you link us to an online gallery, make sure that you only use one for which we do not need to register in order to view/comment
Please also consider to switch of word verification on your blogs if you would like our DT to leave comment. If you are worried about Spam you may want to have commen moderation enabled instead
