Thank you all so much for playing along to our challenge this month - you ladies have totally ROCKED and scrapped your crap like there was no tomorrow. There were so many awesome entries but as always there can only be one winner...and this month our Queen of the crap is:
We loved how effortless Lesley managed to combine the requirements of using 20 (+) letters for her title and an additional 10 embellishments. The layout is so beautifully designed and the picture is super cute. I think that Lesley may have also started a new trend - a "scratch'n'sniff" layout....
Say what?!?? Check out {this} post on her blog to get the skinny on the sniff :)
Anyhoo, Lesley please email us with your address details so we can get your prize pack - sponsored by {Up The Street} - on its merry way to you.
Thank you again to everyone who played along this month - we hope you will join us again in April, for another fun challenge.

Brief Interuption
Sorry for this interuption but I have been getting swamped with emails regarding Noel's Kits. Anyone interested in taking a look you can find her here. And you're in luck because she just put the April kit (Sonoma County) up for Pre-Order.
Below is a pic of the newest kit. I get these kits and I can tell you they are packed to the gills with loads of stuff.
So you will see lots of my layouts done with these kits.
I figured I would share with everyone since I have been getting 2 bazillions emails regarding them :)
Back to our regularly scheduled challenge. See post below.

Challenge #51: 20/10
Welcome the new decade. Now that we are well underway in a new year we want to celebrate the year 2010. Use up your alpha's to create a title with a minimum of 20 letters and add a further 10 embellishments of any sort to your project. Or instead of the title, include journaling of at least 20 words and 10 embellies of any sort. Be creative and choose your own 20/10 combination (20 different papers, 10 different colors...etc etc)
Be sure and comment with a link to your *newly created* project so we can see and comment on them. From all entries linked no later than 20th March 2010, 16:00hrs EST we will choose one overall winner, who will be crowned our Queen of the Crap no later than 25th March 2010.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
One of our very own DT members Tara has so generously offered up a fabulous kit from her store Up the Street Scrapbooking. You can see more pics on the blog.
We will be periodically having prizes up for grabs to those who scrap their crap as a reward for all your hard work :)
*** If you link us to an online gallery, make sure that you only use one for which we do not need to register in order to view/comment ***

Kim:
I am working on a mini book at the moment, which includes concert tickets/passes and pictures of gigs I have been at. While I still remember the fun times I thought it best to get them down on paper :)
For this layout, I used 10 different papers and created 20 punched cardstock circles as my embellishments.
It wasn't even as difficult as I thought to use so many papers. Go on and have a try yourself.
By the way: the picture shows me and Leatherwolf bassist Paul, after their 1989 gig in Hamburg/Germany
Illy:
I have tons of scraps of patterned paper on my desk, this is the occasion to finally use them! I used 20 different patterned papers cut in stripes, and 10 text lines for my journaling (including the title).
I altered my photo with warm water, sand paper and oil pastels. For the title I outlined chipboard letters with a fine marker.
Leslie:

I have been wanting to scrap these photos for a long time (2005, yikes!) My husband and I spend a lot of time refurbishing our old apartment, so the title was not hard to come by! My full title is 20 letters/numbers, and I used 10 paper embellishments and 10 pieces of paper to frame my photos.
Angela:
I thought this challenge would be harder than it was! My title is twenty letters/numbers and because the theme was "10 Things About You," I bulleted each thing with a button or brad, using ten embellishments! I have three kids so I ended up making a similar page for each of them, which you can view, along with a materials list, on my blog.
Tara:
I've had these photos since last spring and couldn't seem to do anything with them. Yes ... that's a frog eating a mouse. I challenged myself to use exactly 20 letters for my title. And for my 10 embellishments, I've used Prima Pearls & Crystals here and there. I've used Up The Street's February kit and you can see more photos of my layout on my blog.
Kristin:

I am addicted to flowers but with two boys I do not get to use them as much as I would like too ...so I decided to use them as part of my background and then I saw in Scrapbook Trends this cool page that this gal did with stacking their photos ...sometimes I wish there were 10 of me to get things done around this house ...lol
Michelle:
Girls, do I have ribbons. This challenge was just begging to use snippets of the stash I have. So with this challenge I used 20 of them and in a row. I wanted to keep all of the color onto one side and I still had to put 10 somethings on it before I finished, without it looking too ridiculous. BUTTONS, glorious little plastic buttons. I had to refrain from using more than 10 though and restraint is a word I don't like to use much,
but what scrapper does. LOL
Brianna:

I was so excited for this challenge,i have seen the use of jumbled letters in a title before and had to put my spin on it!i am a BIG fan of handstitching on my layouts,so i stitched 20 letters for my title, and for my star border i used, yep you guessed it,10 of them!Yay for 2010!
Sarah

I doodled 20 lines in black pen, created two lines of bling – one has 20 dots the other has 10, there are 20 words in my journaling, I sewed on 10 buttons and added 10 pearls to the ribbon along the bottom. I also inked the edges of the pp along the bottom, the arrows are stamped and the little bird is chipboard. There are more close-ups on my my blog.
Don't forget to link us your work for a chance at the new kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking.

Announcing....
You have been waiting so patiently and we are really very truly sorry that it took us SO long to make our announcement but here they are, our new SCRAP YOUR CRAP DT gals.
It will be a surprise for them to see their name too as we did not email them beforehand - so let's hope they still all want to be part of this crazeeeee ride :)
Initially we wanted to add five to the team, but we just were not able to narrow it down, so we decided to take eight of you. That's how we roll at SYC, make up some rules and then totally ignore them *tee hee*
Please help us welcome the following ladies to our team (in no particular order):

Thank you again to everyone who submitted to our call - we have been so overwhelmed with your entries that we decided to offer a GDT spot to all of you, who have not made the final team and most of you have already responded to my email, accepting the spots. I am pleased to say that it looks that we will have the most wicked GDT throughout this year...WOOHOOO.
If any of you (DT or GDT) have any questions, please E-mail me and I try to get back to you as soon as possible.
Oh and in case anyone is wondering - there will be another DT call in six months time....so get your scissors at the ready :)

DT Call - update
We know...we know....isn't is AWFUL when the deadline for an announcement has passed and all you see is a big fat N-O-T-H-I-N-G ??
So sorry - Greta and myself have been so busy trying to narrow those awesome submission down (without tearing too much of our hair out), so we are a wee bit behind.
But fear not - the new DT members will be revealed here on the blog shortly...and there may even be more than five (ooooooh, but I ain't sayin' no more otherwise Greta is gonna clip me around the ears)
Thanks so much for your patience - we just wanted to make sure that we have given all your submissions the attention they deserved.

Challenge #50: Hearts and Glitter
I don't know about you but i have to admit i loathe V-day...yes despicable i know but i do...as a matter of fact i am cringing to have to acknowledge this silly holiday or whatever you call it...but alas...alot of people like so i shall roll with it. :)
Your challenge is Hearts and Glitter....the more the better..run with it...felt hearts, paper hearts, fabric hearts, chipboard, chunky glitter, fine glitter doesn't matter. YOU HAVE TO USE WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE! no buying. after all this is a using up your crap challenge blog :)
my layout is minimal and the reason is.....that's right you read it up top... BLECH!
my anniversary is on new year's eve so i thought it would be ok to use for this. Now that my friends i celebrate. hehehee! After diggin for about an hour i realized i have lots of glitter but not lots of heart stuff (lucky me) so this was the best i could do....
Make sure you post a comment with a link so we can see your stuff...
happy sparkles and glittering :)
Kim
Yeah, I am with Greta on this one - so NOT a fan of V-Day..never have, never will. I dunno, there is something about the commercialisation that totally bugs the heck out of me...and the fact that I refuse to be all lovey dovey on the day when everyone else is too. I much rather have my own special lovey dovey day some other time.
BUT heart and glitter - now THAT I can do....I am chick after all. I have to admit that ever since Glimmer Mist/Cosmic Shimmer has entered my life - I prefer to spritz some Slitter on my projects rather than faffing around with Glitter post and heatgun. The layout is spritzed all over with Glimmer Mist - even on the chipboard heart. But I can also do glitter the "normal" way as shown in the card :)
